2018 Scarecrow Festival – Marine Garden

Our 2018 Scarecrow Festival was a big success for the 10th year running. The weather, which had threatened to let us down, was dry throughout the day, and even sunny at some points! We estimate that there were around 1500 visitors over the course of the afternoon and we raised around £1200 for our funds. We would like to thank everyone who helped make the day a success: the volunteers who helped set up the day and run games and stalls; the independent stallholders and entertainers – Punch and Judy and the bouncy castle were big hits with the children.

Thank you also to everyone who donated books, toys, cakes and plants to sell on our own stalls. Finally a big thank you to all those who made Scarecrows for the competition. The quality of entries was very high. Don and Anthea, our judges, had a hard time choosing between them, but the worthy winner was King Neptune created by the 8th Crosby Rainbows. More photos of the day can be found on our Facebook page, courtesy of Heather Currie.
