“A standard-bearer for natural history mobile applications”

iNaturalist is a citizen science project and online social network of naturalists, citizen scientists, and biologists. It is built on the concept of mapping and sharing observations of biodiversity across the globe on a macro and micro scale.

iNaturalist may be accessed via its website or from its mobile applications. Observations recorded with iNaturalist provide valuable open data to scientific research projects, conservation agencies, other organizations and the wider public. The project is regarded as “A standard-bearer for natural history mobile applications.”

Specific to the gardens, boundaries have been set on the iNaturalist site (Click here for link) so that anyone entering photos and locating to our Gardens/Park will automatically be included. The aim is that we will end up with a good idea of everything that brings life to the four seafront Gardens and Potters Barn Park.
