Thank you to all who have volunteered in the Waterloo Seafront Gardens during January.
Unfortunately we had to cancel our Saturday Litter Pick because of the ice and frosty conditions. Our three garden maintenance sessions all went ahead though, and we have continued to work on clearing the pathways in Adelaide Garden, and on clearing the stream and overgrown rocks in Beach Lawn.
This month we will be holding our annual pond clearing weekend on 15/16th February, starting at 1.30pm in Beach Lawn. We have to complete any work on the pond before the end of February to avoid affecting the wildlife, and we hope to clear some more of the old reeds and plant some iris that have been donated to the group.
Our other sessions during February will take place on:
Saturday 8th – litter picking meeting at 10.30am in Beach Lawn
Tuesday 11th – garden maintenance meeting at 10.00am in Adelaide Garden
Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th – pond clearing in Beach Lawn at 1.30pm
Wednesday 26th – garden maintenance meeting at 1.00pm in Adelaide Garden.
All equipment will be provided, as well as refreshments. If you have wellies or waders they would be useful for the pond clearing.
Best wishes,
Janet Markland
